چکیده

Motivated by the need for simulation tools testing, verification and validation of autonomous driving systems that operate in traffic consisting both human-driven vehicles, we propose a game-theoretic framework modeling interactive behavior vehicles at uncontrolled intersections. The proposed vehicle interaction model is based on novel formulation dynamic games with multiple concurrent leader-follower pairs, induced from common rules. Based results various intersection scenarios, show exhibits reasonable expected traffic, including capability reproducing scenarios extracted real-world data performance resolving conflicts. further validated level-of-service quality rating system demonstrates manageable computational complexity compared to traditional multi-player models.

Game-Theoretic Modeling of Driver and Vehicle Interactions for Verification and Validation of Autonomous Vehicle Control Systems

Autonomous driving has been the subject of increased interest in recent years both in industry and in academia. Serious efforts are being pursued to address legal, technical and logistical problems and make autonomous cars a viable option for everyday transportation. One significant challenge is the time and effort required for the verification and validation of the decision and control algorit...

Modeling Multiple–Vehicle Property Damage Collisions in Urban Signalized Intersections

Development of disaggregate models for estimating different property damage collision type frequencies in urban intersections has rarely been studied, particularly in Iran. It seems very little research work being implemented for studying the effect factors on collision type frequency at intersections. The main objective of this paper is to develop suitable statistical models to predict types o...

Modeling Vehicle Distributions at Urban Intersections using the Information Bottleneck

Accurate simulations of Vehicle-to-Any communication networks at urban intersections need to be based on precise models. We approach this by analyzing the distribution of neighboring vehicles a communication node sees as a function of the distance to the closest intersection. Our analysis is based on real world map data from the city of Linz in Austria, and used both static random placement of ...

Agent-Based Game Theory Modeling for Driverless Vehicles at Intersections

This report presents three research efforts that are being published in various journals. The first research effort presents a reactive-driving agent based algorithm for modeling driver left turn gap acceptance behavior at signalized intersections. This model considers the interaction between driver characteristics and vehicle physical capabilities. The model explicitly captures the vehicle con...

Automated Vehicle-to-Vehicle Collision Avoidance at Intersections

We present experimental results for an active control Intersection Collision Avoidance (ICA) system implemented on modified Lexus IS250 test vehicles. The system utilizes vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) to share safety critical state information, allowing for distributed implementation of our provably safe algorithms. Safety is achieved in potential collisio...
